West Texas Energy Consortium Bringing E³ Summit Back to Abilene
Abilene, Texas: The West Texas Energy Consortium (WTxEC) is pleased to announce the return of the E³ Summit, a one-of-a-kind conference for educators across the state.
The E³ Summit: Educators and Industry “Building a Bridge from Classroom to Career” will be held July 19, 2017, at the Abilene Convention Center. The WTxEC is thrilled to have Josh Linkner headline this exceptional educational event. Linkner jolts organizations and people worldwide, helping them recharge their creativity to reawaken companies and careers. A New York Times Bestselling author, successful five-time entrepreneur, venture capitalist and well-respected jazz musician, Josh teaches, inspires, and entertains.
The event will feature hands-on training and workshops from some of the best and brightest in STEM including Texas Instruments, Dr. Nelson Coulter, the nationally recognized EduDrone project sponsored by Office Depot, and more. West Texas industry sector partners in manufacturing and healthcare will also convene strategic planning sessions around targeted areas of workforce need during the E³ Summit. A soft skills focus group for manufacturers will be professionally facilitated by Francie Genz of Collaborative Economics.
Katherine Stokes, Executive Director of the Consortium, states that one of the reasons for keeping an event of this caliber here in Abilene is to, “bring business and education partners together and help shape a successful future for our students, local businesses throughout the region and our communities.” The long-term vision is to bring organizations and their employees together with schools and educators to provide opportunities and experiences beyond the regular curriculum. This will assist with future efforts to grow student internships, apprenticeships and educator externships throughout the region. Make plans to attend the 2nd Annual E³ Summit — elevate your professional skills, learn more about creative tools and get inspired by presentations without leaving West Texas. Registration is open NOW! For more information and to register, visit http://www.e3stem.org/summit2017
The West Texas Energy Consortium (WTxEC) was established in response to the region’s need for skilled workforce and community development surrounding the latest surge in energy development. WTxEC is the first in Texas to develop a regional approach to workforce problem-solving in a major Texas enterprise area. Members tackle challenges successfully with the ‘ecosystem’ approach through connections to industry, institutions of higher education, regional school systems and workforce leaders.
